A Girly Sea Themed Nursery

I am so excited to share our baby girls nursery with everyone! It is everything I hoped for and know our girl will love growing up in it!

When we found out we were pregnant, I immediately began looking at nursery ideas. My favorite store is Pottery Barn Kids. This was my first stop when we found out we were having a girl. There is something super adorable about a little girls nursery. I saw this room online and loved it. Hubby is a huge fisherman and I thought the sea theme would be right up his alley too. They happen to have the key west bedding set up in the store and it was just as fabulous in person.

So without further adieu, I present our baby girl's nursery...

Dresser/Changing Table - Kendall Dresser and Changing Table from Pottery Barn Kids
Curtains - Sailcloth Panel with Blackout Liner in Bright Pink

Wall Art - PB Kids

We are so happy with the final result! It makes me happy every time I walk in the room! Hope you enjoy!

Back in Action

Hello blog world! I have been MIA for quite some time here on the blog. I do have a good reason I promise...the Doyles added a new addition, a baby girl, to our family in October!

Our sweet girl is 8 weeks old and I am enjoying life as a new mom. I have recently quit my full time job to be a stay at home mom. Now that I am getting the hang of my new role at home, I have some more time for blogging and am excited to get connected again.

I'm super excited to share little girl's nursery, holiday decor/projects and recipes with everyone! Look for posts coming soon!

Valentine's Day Recap

Hi everyone! I hope y'all had a great Valentine's Day and weekend! I feel like I have been out of the loop in the blog world this past week. Sometimes this thing called life happens and you just get busy, you know?

Anyway, I still wanted to share some of our Valentine's fun, even if I
am super a bit late. Better late than never right? :)

I did a little decorating around the house, just a enough to make things look festive.

(Picture captured before I added red roses to the vase so you can just imagine them! They're pretty, I promise!)

Hubby was super sweet and had this set-up waiting for me when I got home! He's a keeper!

So there you have it. Simple and sweet Valentine's at our house. We went to our favorite Italian restaurant for dinner. It was super yummy! What did you do for Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Decor - Things I'm Loving

We'll folks, I've been hit by Cupid's arrow. I am officially ready for Valentine's Day and another reason to decorate my house. I'm getting out my Valentine's Day decorations this week and have been looking around some other blogs and websites for new inspiration. I'm still loving the decor I used from last year (which I will share once everything is complete), but I think it's fun to add in a new decor or DIY projects each year.

Here are some things I'm loving...

You can always find some great ideas on Pinterest. And Lil' Luna also has some great Valentine's ideas!

For recipes I always turn to Bakerella, Picky-Palate and Annies-Eats

Where do y'all go for Valentine's ideas? I'm always looking for new blogs to read and find ideas from, so please feel free to share!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Braised White Beans with Rosemary

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Has anyone had the white beans at Zoe's Kitchen? They are delish! I really wanted some this weekend, but with the icy conditions we had here in NC, it was easier to make them at home. They take a couple hours to cook, but man is it worth it! Such a yummy warm comfy dish! It went great with our turkey shish kabobs and greek salad last night for dinner.

Braised White Bean with Rosemary

Ingredients:

4 cans great northern beans, drained but not rinsed
1 onion
4 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup olive oil plus 2 tbsp
1 cup vegetable stock
2 springs rosemary
1/2 tsp salt, plus salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Dice onion and saute until translucent in 2 tbsp olive oil. Add salt and garlic and cook until fragrant (~1 minute). Add beans, 1 cup vegetable stock, 1/4 cup olive oil and rosemary and  cook on high until bubbling. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.  Stir/mash beans and add salt and pepper to taste. Add pot to a 300 degree oven and cook for an additional hour. Serve warm as main dish, side dish or as a dip with pita chips.

Give this recipe a try! You will not be disappointed!
